Trouble: Page number appear both on top and bottom of the page.

I created a section in my thesis. The first section have roman numbers on
the bottom. The next section have numbers 1,2,3 on the top. The problem is
that when I put the 1,2,3 numbers on the top both them and the roman numbers
appear on top and bottom. How can I fix it??

Don't even try to use Insert | Page Numbers for this type of setup. Instead,
insert the page number directly in the header and footer. See
