The upgrade file downloads ok and begins to install but encounters the
following error " The file c:windows/system32/drivers/bridge.sys is open or
inuse by another application. Close all applications and try again." No
other apps are running. Have tried running adware to remove any viruses but
no effect. Any ideas??

Download SP2 from here and install the downloaded file:

Otherwise, take your adapters off the network bridge if applies.

Thank you DD for your suggestions. I have tried this download and
recieved the same error message when installing. Could you explain in
detail what you mean by "take your adapters off the network bridge??"

Start > Run: %windir%\system32\drivers
Check the file properties of "bridge.sys". Make sure that this is the
Microsoft system file "MAC Bridge Driver" (or similar). If this is the
case, the Network Bridge is in use. Control Panel > Network connections.
See if there are network adapters within the spanning Network Bridge and
remove them from the bridge if applies. In addition, you may also want
to disable the "MAC Bridge Miniport" in the device manager. Anyway, this
behavior is very strange and this error should *not* occur even when the
Network Bridge is activated. Another possible reason might be a damaged
file and/or file system.
Many thanks for your time.

You're certainly welcome. Good luck.
