I have been unable to install a clean copy of XP Pro.
The new hard drive does not automatically load XP Pro even
when bios is set to boot first from the CD Rom. I have
tried to download the XP Pro boot disks - the instructions
say you need six disks. However, when the file
downloads, it downloads to 99% complete, then starts to
copy - then it gives an error message that the file being
copied to too large for the destination drive. If
possible insert a higher-capacity disk.

Any suggestions - I am desperate to get an OS back on this
computer - it is the host machine to my network!

I have also found other boot disks from other websites,
but they have not worked either - one instructed to direct
the dos prompt to the CD drive then type i386, then winnt -
this begins to install winnt (when the winnt CD is in),
but does not work when XP Pro is in the CD ROM

I would greatly appreciate any and all help.
Thanks,
Dianne.

Dianne;
During boot, there will be a message "Press any key to boot to CDROM"
You must quickly press a key as the message is visible for only a few
seconds.
If you do not see the message, just tap a key about once a second
during boot.

For the boot disks, download the file to your hard drive.
That is not intended to be downloaded directly to the floppies.
It will be an executable file.
Double click the file.
You will be prompted for the 6 disks.
