Trouble after installing new HD

I recently ran out of room on my factory installed HD so I bought a new 120GB
drive. I installed it according to directions found in the product box and
once installed I went to the file transfer utility provided by the
manufacturer.

I moved some files and now I'm having performance problems. Programs take
forever to open. Programs I removed are still shown on the Start bar. I can't
consistently control the mouse and I frequently get a series of clicks when
simply moving the mouse. I can also now out type the computer's ability to
keep up.

Booting up says I'm missing a dll.

Is there hope? Does anyone out there have any suggestions to repair these
problems? I would definately appreciate any and all suggestions.

Thanks,

You CANNOT move programs and have them still working afterwards. They have
entries in the Registry that tell Windows where to find them and if you just
move them, poor old Windows has no idea where you put them. they must be
uninstalled from the first drive and then reinstalled on the second drive.

I would also suggest that in the future you leave hardware changes and file
maintenance to someone else. It seems as if your actions have caused your
system to become unstable. Cari has posted some very good advice.

You shoulda done a drive to drive copy, and made it a
bootable drive.Western digital has a very good tool to
copy.Basicly, you put new drive in as slave, copy drive C:
to it,then take both out and put 160 gigger in as
master, then make sure it works, then put your old drive in
as slave, and format it using it as a storeroom.Or keep it
in the closet incase some day your 160 crashes.OK so
where are we??????If you take out the new drive, with the
old one in,does it run good,if yes then you can do the
drive to drive copy.Post back after you tried just the
old drive.I sorry if others in here expect you to be some
kind of expert.I learned everything by trial and
error,sometimes more error,Now I spend my weekends
putting together systems for local people, most older kids
with more money than brains,Put them together a 3 Gig P4
200 Gig H-D 256MB video 2 Gig Ram sell 'em cheap for
$2250 when I only have $900 in and 4 hours of work,great
for games, learn by myself, and help from people in
newsgroups like this one.Now all I see anymore are
sarcastic remarks.Ignore those and keep asking.Someone
kind will sone read your post, and posibly help. But then
Bobby knows everything.God bless and good luck.

Booby,

What a piece of waste you are. It's people like you that give geeks/nerds a
bad name. Next time I suggest that you leave responding to requests for help
to someone with more manners. Someone who remembers what learning is all
about.

You're nothing but trash!

First of all, I said nothing offensive in the post. The OP caused his own
problems. I merely suggested that in the future he seek assistance Before
making hardware changes and moving date around without understanding the
implications of doing so. I am not a geek. You are an idiot...can't even
spell my name correctly. You call me Booby, tell me I'm a waste, and then
have the balls to talk about manners? If your mother had manners she would
not have spread her legs to make you.
