Trying to connect a new Dell computer to a HP computer both running XP Home.
I successfully set up a linksys wireless network, in which both computers
have internet. However, the HP Computer would not share a printer or see the
other computer on a network.

The both have seperate IP addresses and different names. Gateways and
Subnet Mask are set correctly.

The HP Computer kept telling me that I did not have permission and I logged
on the administrator's account. I tried everything I know including Firewall
settings and sercurity. Then this computer had a severe error and shut down.
I did a system restore from several days before. However today, this
computer receives a severe error 3-4 times and shuts down and now they lost
the ability to share internet.

This is my first time working with XP Home, I usually work on netoworks with
NT or XP Pro or Milineum.

Please help! I would like to share just the printer, internet connection
and get Windows running properly on the HP Computer.

Alicia,

Do you see any details in Event Viewer when this happens?

Is the Windows Firewall / Internet Connection Sharing service running?
