Hello,

I'm trying to setup the trivial FTP service on a Windows 2000 Server
computer. I install RIS, which gives me the TFTP service, and then I set
the service up to automatically start and I also manually start it.

Upon starting it the CPU goes to 100%, network connections are dropped and
everything goes downhill from there. This is a live server running IIS,
Active Directory, DNS and many other services. Hardware is pretty much top
of the line (Athlong XP 1.4Ghz, 512MB RAM...) I can find no fault as to why
this service kills the server.

Any ideas? Thanks to all in advance ;-).

I prefer the Hummingbird Exceed suite of utilities and use the TFTP Daemon (service) it
provides.

So I'm guessing that no one can offer an explanation as to why the tftp
service managed to kill the server?

Try asking over in one of the server newsgroups. Higher percentage of
people working with servers there.
