Triggering a cue on another computer

I am working on a project that requires that a PowerPoint presentation runs
in sync with a different presentation application on another PC.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way for PowerPoint to output a signal
(perhaps USB) that would create a keystroke (e.g. right arrow or enter) on a
2nd computer.
I thought there might be a way to simulate a standard PC wireless remote
control signal from an action or script in PowerPoint to trigger another
computer.

I would appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks much!
