tried to reinstall windows but get error msg

Well, I tried to reinstall windows xp hm ed with the boot disks (for sp1) but I got this error msg 4099 saying setpreg.hiv could not be loaded. WTF??? Any suggestions? This is the same laptop I've been posting about the past couple of days.

Try copying i386 to your hard drive and install from there.
