Here’s my question, thanks in advanced for the help.

I have just been assigned a project that I thought was going to b
relatively simple. I am supposed to take a pst file that contain
inbox data from 5 different users and copy it to a CD-R so that anyon
can open it anywhere at any time. Well I created the file, and tha
worked just fine. I can open it on my workstation when it’s saved t
my harddrive or anywhere else on the network. The problem is that whe
the file is copied to a CD and tried to open from any computer,
workstation defined on our internal network, or any other machine,
receive the following message:

“File access is denied. You do not have permission required to acces
the file e:\xxxxx.pst”

I assume it has something to do with the security settings on the ps
file, but I don’t know what I need to change to allow it to open on an
machine. Right now access is granted to “Everyone” which is actuall
not everyone but limited to anyone in our internal.xxxxx.net/Builtin
internal.xxxxx.net/Users, internal.xxxxx.net/MyBusiness/Groups.

I would like to know how to fix this. Am I right in assuming that if
take all security off that it will open on any machine? And if that i
correct how do I do that? Or is there a different solution to th
problem?

I don’t know if this is information that is needed but we host our ow
mail and are using Microsoft Exchange 2002.

Thanks for your help

PST files must have read/write access. Accordingly, you can't open one from
a CD.
You must move it to a hard drive and remove its read only attribute.
