A somewhat non-windows related question but...

How does trial version software know when to expire? When you uninstall and
reinstall, what retains the original install date?

I bought a book with a trial version of Websphere but I don't think I can
finish it within the 90 day period.

Their are still pieces of it in the registry you need to
remove them.

Different software vendors use different methods, such as leaving
an obscure entry in the registry.

Some will place cookies in the registry...
