How can you turn off those annoying ballons that pop-up in the system tray
every time something prints or some other event takes place?

Picking up the tread, I ran this and my Norton AV advised a "malicious
script notice" so I aborted. Any further ideas?

It is the job of any virus scanner to question the running of vbs script.
This particular script is *not* malicious and is OK to run. Just tell Norton
to allow it.

Doug's scripts do not contain anything malicious, but Norton is liable
to regard *any* script as being such

You're very welcome :-)

That script is one of the first things that I run after setting up a system
with XP.
