transparency in backcolor does not work

would there be a reason why i cannot set the backcolor on lables to be
transparent.
it is set to be transparent, but it does not work for some reason.

any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi,

If you set the labels backcolor to transparent the label will take
the back color of its parent. If you have a label over a picturebox and its
parent is the form it will still show the forms background.
