Hi there

I use a Danish version of Windows XP Pro. The problem I have is that all the
menus, graphical items, error messages etc, are in the Danish language - and
that means that if I want to ask about something in an English language
forum I never know what to call the thing I want to ask about.

Is there a website somewhere which gives translations of all the common
aspects of Windows?

For example, in the bottom left of the screen (just to the right of the
start button) is a "værktøjslinje" called "hurtig start". I assume this is
called a "tool line" called "quick start", but I'm not sure. I want to know
how I can get this "quick start" tool line to be longer, so more than just 3
icons plus a "more" arrow are shown.

Thanks,
Peter

How about posting to

Well ok, I have now done that - thanks for the obvious tip. However this
group (and quite a few Danish language groups) have quite a low throughput
and often it is better to use English language forums.

Thanks,
Peter

Besides, by posting here you improve the average level of English.
Folks who learned English as a second language often seem to write
it better than natives. :-)

Well, now you caught me out :-)
I'm actually not a native Dane, but I've been living here for 10 years or
so. I come from New Zealand originally, so I grew up speaking English....

Hi,

I just use google language tools for translating. For your specific problem,
rihgt-click the taskbar and click on "lock the taskbar" to uncheck it. Then
you can grab the divider bar for the quicklaunch and drag it out to the
desired length. Then relock the taskbar.

Thanks, it really was embarrassingly obvious.
