I have my windows xp on a partition in the front of my HD. Is there a
way I can transfer it to the second partition? I know in dos there was a
command called sys.com that transferred system files. Can something similar
be done with xp?

Bill

you can move dos programs
to the other partition but you
can't move windows or softwares
programmed for use by windows.

But i think you may have
discovered this if you tried to copy
everything from the front of your hd
to the second partition. It can be done
but requires super technical expertise.

just use your windows setup cd
and tell it to install an o.s. on
the other partition. Then if you have
purchased other programs for use
in windows you will need to reinstall
them to the new location.

something to keep in mind is that
if you feel you are running out of
room on the primary partition then
you should look into getting a partition
manager like acronis disk director.

this can make your partition bigger
and relieve you of the headaches of
reinstalling everything again...

I have got the same problem,i installed Northon Ghost 2003,saved image
from c: drive,
Extracted c: image to d:\ and edited c:\boot.ini
It works, but the Second XP(d:\) uses the c:\Documents And Settings
too.
I tryed changing Environment variables but it doest't work well.

Do you know anybody what should i do to work well my Second XP?

I havent got XP cd(it's a school's pc and legal XP,so i can't install
(illegal) XP to D:).
