Transferring XP registration from one computer to another????

Is there any way that i can transfer an activated version
of windows XP from an old computer to a new computer
without having to buy a new copy???
 
If XP came pre-installed (OEM License) then you cannot do it legally..

If you bought retail copy and have a valid license then you can reactivate
after reinstalling on new computer or transferring hard disk or just
transferring harddisk image to new computer. At worst you may have to call
up Microsoft for activation.
 
Yes, When you install and then activate it will give you the option of
calling in the registration. You an then speak to a human who can assist
you in the move.

Assuming a retail license (OEM licenses are not transferable),
simply remove WinXP from the computer it is currently on, and install
it onto the new one. If it's been more than 120 days since you last
activated that specific Product Key, you'll most likely be able to
activate via the Internet without problem. If it's been less, you
might have to make a 5 minute phone call.
