I have to change computers. Does anyone know how I can transfer all my
Outloook saved newsgroup messages (not just account settings) to the new
computer?

Tools like Aloha Bob PC Relocator don't seem to do it.
The export/import tools in Outlook only handle account settings, not saved
messages.
Manually copying the DBX files works half way -- I get my old messages, but
it corrupts the Outlook accounts. For example, when posting to account1,
outlook tries to use account2. There must be some account indexes that no
longer match.

Has anyone done this before? I just want all my old messages, flagged
conversations, watched conversations, etc. on my new computer. (Many of
these messages are no longer on my newsgroup server, so transferring my
saved copies is required.)

Thanks!
Mountain

Since Outlook doesn't use DBX files (Outlook Express does), you're asking in
the wrong newsgroup. Ask in an Outlook Express newsgroup.

Brian, I don't know about your version of Outlook, but mine uses DBX files
for newsgroups. I use Outlook 2000. I don't know why everyone jumps to the
conclusion that I'm talking about OE -- I guess people like yourself never
look at the Outlook news stores.

Open Outlook Newreader and navigate as follows:
Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store Folder
check the location, then go there in Explorer and look at the file
extensions yourself

Now, can someone that knows what they are talking about, kindly give me some
tips?

No, it doesn't. Outlook does not have any newsgroup reading capability and
uses Outlook Express to do that for it.

Brian, I agree that the newsreader is the same for the 2 apps, but if
Microsoft labels the newsreader as "Microsoft Outlook Newsreader" when
Outlook is installed then I think it is fair to call it Outlook Newsreader.
Just look at the title bar and you will see that the name is in fact
"Microsoft Outlook Newsreader".

Since Microsoft chooses to call the product "Microsoft Outlook Newsreader"
at least some of the time (ie, whenever Outlook is installed), then I think
it is appropriate to ask my question in this newsgroup.

Think what you want. Everyong else who asks about the "Outlook Newsreader"
gets sent to an Outlook Express newsgroup and not just by me.

OK, I'll take your word for it. I assume you know the protocol better than I
do. I haven't used this newsgroup before. Sorry if I sounded like a jerk.
