Transferring local profiles to AD native domain

I have been searching Google and this newsgroup but I have yet to find the
'definitive' answer. Please point me in the right direction.

I have some client XP PC's that were in a workgroup. To facilitate their
software I have installed AD (native) on their server. I now want to get
these PC's in the domain. However I want to keep their desktop's, Outlook
email, etc. the same as they were 'standalone'.

I have tried the File and Settings transfer wizard, moveuser, also copying the
profile via XP's facility. Things can get close but the real kicker is
Outlook 2002. Can't get that thing to bring over their email, etc.

Again any help is appreciated. I am not a novice but every once in a while
there comes a stumper. This is mine for this week.

Hi Roger-

You can use the "Copy To" functionality in Control
Panel->System->Advanced->User Profiles to adapt these local user profiles to
domain user profiles.

Although this article refers to a different cause, the steps are the same
ones you need in your scenario:

As an alternative method, you could use the steps outlined in the article
below:

Settings

Please repost if you have additional questions or concerns.

Thanks for the response.

I did this on one system. The problem that I had was that it did not bring
over the Outlook settings. This required setting up the account(s) again and
losing the existing email. This method is good if I can find a method to get
the Outlook (and/or Express) configuration over also.
