Transferring from current pc to another

I am waiting for a new laptop I ordered. In the meantime I
am wondering is there a way to transfer my email files,
messages and contacts from my current win 98 machine to my
new laptop with xp pro? I'm not on a network though where
I can back these up to a server. Any ideas??

Copy your pst file. That contains everything except your email account
settings, your Rules, and Junk Senders file.
 
Can you tell me where I can find that file C:???

Win 98

I did a search under find file or folders and found
nothing. I'm sure it's somewhere in c/windows/appdata??

Are you using Outlook or Outlook EXPRESS?

Have you done a search for *.pst? (I didn't think W98 had such things as
hidden system files..........) It ought to be in C:\Windows\User Profile (if
any)\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook (I think - it's a LOOOONG time
since I used W98......)
 
It's not in either locale???
