transferring files

i have a 20 GB hard drive that was connected to my macintosh via ethernet(which is only on mac's) i have photos and music that i need to transfer to my pc (using windows xp) i know i can get an adapter that can connect my hard drive to my new pc, but i'm wondering if i can actually transfer the files and how to go about doing that.

There is software that allows you to read Mac files n a PC and vice versa.
Do a Google search on "Mac to PC"

If you are running XP then there is a Files and Settings Transfer Wizard that is located in the Start menu under Accessories, System tools.
