I wish to quickly and easily tranfer data from a .CSV file to Outlook
contacts in a distribution list. I sell my own software and I can download a
..CSV file that has all customer information (including customer name and
e-mail address) and open it up with excel. Is there any way to pick two
columns (name and e-mail address) and have it automatically imported to
outlook as contact entries in a distribution list? I have a total of over 300
sales and it would take forever to manually copy and paste each e-mail
address and name.

Thanks!
David

Why do you want a distribution list? I would import the contacts into their own folder, then for mail shots, use mail merge. No DL needed.

How would I do this? I was thinking of using a distribution list because I
wanted to have a separate list for each one of my programs so I could send an
email (i.e. for a program update) to all members of a specific list. I
thought mail merge was only for making addresses for snail mail.

If you look at the output options for a Word mail merge, you'll see that there are three -- new document, printer, and e-mail.

Thanks-this has solved my problem.
