Giora

Hi.
I would like to transfer the setup of the toolbars to my
new system disk.
I also would like to transfer the macros.
Any idea?
Giora

Go back and read the article again. It's Normal.dot you're after.

Grahm, The key is selected, then Registry > Export will
export the whole file. I want to extract the string.
Giora

In Regedit32 it is FILE > Export. This exports the key currently selected in
the left window. To export the whole registry you need to select the root
entry 'My Computer'. That is unnecessary for this exercise. If you have made
custom labels export their entry also (but only for export to the same
version of Word).

Most of your customisations will be in normal.dot as Suzanne mentioned
earlier.

Do you know where I can get regedit32.exe?

.

You run it by typing Regedit at the Start | Run prompt.

Regedit in my PC do not have file in the drop down menu.
I thought there is another program called REGEDIT32.

There is (actually it is called regedt32.exe) , but it merely runs regedit.
The file menu is the first menu in the current version.

You won't need it. Type regedit in Windows > start > run and press enter.
Regedit is installed in Windows by default.
If you need to find the file, it is in the folder \Windows\System32

I just had a horrible thought :(

This is not a Mac I take it? If it is, you will need to ask in the macword
group as Macs handle things differently.

We are in a loop. Let's go to squere one.
This is a PC. You said that with REGEDIT32.exe I can
export the key if I highlight it and "file" > "export".
In my REGEDIT there is no "file" in the menu.
There is "registry", "edit", "view", "favorite", "help".
If you have a REGEDIT that has "file" in the menu i'll be
glad to recieve it.
Giora

On the Registry menu, if you select Export Registry File... you can export
just the selected branch.

The various flavours of regedit are immaterial - the one I am using is for
Windows XP Pro SP2. In other versions the requisite command may be located
differently as indicated by Suzanne, but it does the same job.
