I am trying to transfer templates I made in Word 2000 to a different computer
with Word 2003. Is this possible and if so, how does one copy the templates?

Just copy the original template file (i.e. the file with extension *.dot)
like you copy other computer files. (hightlight it in Windows Explorer, then
press Ctrl + C. Go to the destination folder, click on the white space once,
then press Ctrl + V. In this case, you might want to first copy it to a
floppy disk.)

Your templates will be stored in the folder (and subfolders) defined in Word
at tools > options > file locations > user templates. Copy the contents of
this folder (or folders) and transfer to the different computer's similarly
defined folder. In the case of normal.dot, I would suggest that before
starting Word 2003, you rename the Word 2000 version to oldnormal.dot, then
use the organizer to transfer personalisations from oldnormal.dot to the new
one created by Word 2003.
