Transfer Files

Need detail instructions on how (if possible) to transfer
files from Gateway w/windows 95 to Dell w/windows xp.
Don't understand connection of serial cable. Do not have
network.

No Network?

No CD Burner?

Well, you are pretty much stuck with either borrowing/buying an external
CD-RW and hoping it works under Windows 95 and copying your stuff to it or
using several (dozen?) floppy diskettes to copy your stuff to and transfer
that way. You could go crazy and dial-up (connect to the Internet) and
upload your stuff to an FTP site and then download it on your new computer.
Other options are to get a friend to hook you into their network or take it
to work or take the hard drive out and put it in your new machine.
