I am using a Vaio laptop pc that equipped with built-in BT device. On the
pc, I connect a BT mouse and works correctly. I would like to transfer a
jpg file to the pc without success. On the phone, I search the pc and the
pc shows connected. However the transfer fails. On other pc without
built-in BT device, I installed a BT PCMCIA card without any issue. Can
someone advise the possible causes and fixes.

Thanks and regards,

Scott

The WinXP SP2 Bluetooth stack does not support all devices.
"List of Bluetooth radio drivers that are included in Windows XP SP2"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/841803/en-us

If you can't find your device in that list, there is a third-party stack
installed, most likely. Start > Run: fsquirt.exe
If this doesn't work, contact the manufacturer's tech support. See also
"Bluetooth device installation may not work without any notification"

Detlev,

Thanks for your information. How can I identify the BT module with the list
given?

Thanks,

Scott

Well, since that list is related to your BT hardware, you may either want
to consult the documentation coming along with your laptop or follow these
steps: Control Panel > System > Advanced tab > Environment Variables.

Add the system variable "devmgr_show_details" and assign the value
'1'. Open the device manager and doubleclick your Bluetooth device.
Now you should find the new "Details" tab allowing to compare its
Device PnPID with the given list. Good luck!

You'll probably need to obtain specialized drivers and software from
the telephone manufacturer and/or your cellular service provider.
