I have a copy of my disk from a Windows 98 machine that contained Outlook
Express on a new Windows XP machine that has Outlook and Outlook Express
installed. I have been able to transfer all of my addresses but cannot
transfer all of my message files.

How can I transfer my message files? I can't evel locate the message files
from the old Windows 98 machine.

Ask Outlook Express on the old machine to tell you where its message store
is: Tools>Options>Maintenance>Store Folder. Transfer that message store to
your new PC using instructions found at http://www.insideoe.com/ . Once on
the new machine in Outlook Express there, use Outlook Express to export your
messages to Outlook (File>Export>Messages). Use Outlook on the new machine
to import the address book (File>Import and Export>Import Internet Mail and
Addresses).

You could use Outlook to import the messages from Outlook Express as well,
but doing so will change the time stamps on the messages, where exporting
them from OE to OL won't.
