Language teacher

I am an English teacher. I have recorded student speech into a wav file and
want to transcribe it. Do I understand correctly that there is a Microsoft
programme that will do that? Ideas and advice please.

The Language Bar in the MS Office Suite has a setting to 'listen' and
transcribe the speech to text. The entire 'accessibility' set of options are
a built-in part of Windows. Your can also install the "tablet pc" software.
Open your Help and Support app to:
Dictate text using Speech Recognition

Getting the system to treat a wav like line in is a bit of a hack, but not
too hard.
