We have recently installed Office 2003 and I am finding
it difficult to follow tracked changes made between
Original, Original with Mark up, Final and Final with
Markup. If you select a document, save it and then make
changes and save it as a new document, exit out and go
back in, it reverts to the one before you had saved and
you have to select final again but this is causing a lot
of confusion. I deselected the "make hidden markup
visible when opening or saving" on the Security tab of
the Options but it still doesn't work. Do you have a
clear guide/set of instructions that I can follow please?

Hi Mary,

Are you wanting to 'finalize' a document and then add more revisions?
If that is the case you need to use "Accept all changes in document"
prior to saving.

Otherwise all revisions are still be contained in the document and
there really isn't any way to distinguish between the 'new' and 'old'
revisions. Modifying the view only modifies what you see on the screen
and doesn't alter the document contents.
