I have created a table of our Church's bus riders. Now I need to figure out
how to track or log the attendence of each rider every Sunday. I am a
complete novice, and cannot figure out how to accomplish this. I have a
table with an ID for every Sunday in 2005, as well as the original table with
all the names and personal information of the riders. Now I don't know what
to do! Is there a simple way to log who rides and who doesn't? Please help!

It would help to know what will be done with the data - nag those that signed
up to ride and do not OR bill those that did ride.

Any way build a roster of porential riders and print for bus driver to tick
off riders.
Use a check box for those not ride (if that is the largest number) by noting
the blank spaces on the printed roster.

Run a report of non-checked OR checked, according to what you are looking
for. This information can be appended to another table with date for history.

I need to track the riders just so we know who rode the bus and when--so I
can print a report of who was there on a particular date or how faithful a
rider is. This data will be tracked in real time, on a computer on the bus,
so I was hoping to have some way of doing this without using paper at all.
The person who will be entering the data has no knowledge of Access or
databases in general, nor do they have patience or desire to learn. This
means ease of use is imperative or else I won't get cooperation in this area.

The only thing needed on the bus is a way to capture the day/rider
combination. This could be done with just a PDA and the built in PDA
spreadsheet. Then the data could be uploaded into your computer at the end
of each day. The bus diver/passangers would only be challenged to remember
to enter a three digit code when a rider gets on the bus. Research (school
lunch programs) says even kindergardeners are able to remember a three digit
code (of course one must remember they haven't been to college yet) ;)

I built a database I think might be usefull as a Laptop application for the
driver.

If you will put your e-mail address in your profile (there it can be removed
later - not like a post that can not be edited) I will send it to you with
instructions.

One thing I could not make it do was to return to the position on the bus
route list where the driver adds a new rider at a particular stop. The
driver click a button - Agult or Child - to add. The name in filled in at a
later time.

The driver can page down to get back.

My apologies for not replying earlier--I have many family members in the New
Orleans area and on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and I have been preoccupied
with obtaining information regarding their situations...Anyway, I would love
to try your database if you are still able to help. I will update my profile
as soon as I finish typing this. Thank you!
