Tracked Changes: Can't see change info with mouse rollover

am using Word 2002 on XP Pro. I have tracked changes
settings set to show insertions and deletions within the
body of the text (the old way), not with balloons in the
margins (the new way).
In older versions of Word, when I moused over the added
or deleted text, I would see who made the change and the
date. I had that function for a while with Word 02 but
that function seems to have gone away in all my tracked
changes documents. I put the mouse over the change and
patiently wait, but get no info on who or when the change
was made. how do I see time of change? This information
is very important to me. Thank you.

Do you have "Sreen tips" deactivated in Tools/Options/View?
That would explain the problem...
