How can this be? Brand spanking new Word 2002 document
but when I select SHOW and then REVIEWERS, I get a list
of 7 people most of whom aren't even in the office! ! !

1) why does this happen?
2) how can I stop this?

thanks

These can be coming from Normal.dot or from add-ins. One puzzling case
turned out to be due to a common add-in that had a reviewer's name left in
it.

Suzanne, you're exactly right. There is an alien
reviewer in normal.dot. Any idea how to remove him?

thanks

Well, at a minimum you'll have to open Normal.dot for editing (if you don't
know how to do that, see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/BlankDocNotBlank.htm). If you have
nothing to lose, you can rename Normal.dot and let Word create a fresh,
factory-default one, but that shouldn't be necessary. What I'm not sure
about, though, is how to get rid of the reviewer. For a start, you can
accept/reject all changes in the template and make sure Track Changes is
turned off, but I suspect that won't help. Make sure that the alien reviewer
is not named on the User Information tab of Tools | Options. Beyond that,
I'll have to hope for suggestions from more knowledgeable readers.
