In MS Word 2000, is there any way to isolate tracked changes that were made
on a certain date? (other than rolling over each change one at a time for the
baloon).

Mmmm. Word 2000 doesn't have "balloons"; those were introduced in Word 2002.
But in any case, Word doesn't provide the functionality you seek. You'd need
a macro solution. Possibly one that loops through the tracked changes (from
the current selection to the end?) stopping when it finds the necessary
criteria. Perhaps in a toolbar, with a textbox where you could type the date
you want to seek?
