Tracert doesn't resolve machine name

I have a problem where is I tracert an IP address on my local network - it
doesn't return me the machine name. I'm doing this from a Windows XP Pro SP2
machine. It works fine in Windows 2000 on the same network. Any ideas ...
 
I would check the DNS settings first.
