touchscreen & tabletpc features

Hi,
I am wondering if any touchscreen can work with a
regular PC computer running the tabletpc operating
system. I want to use features of a tabletpc like the
writing thing but I want to leave it in one place and
don't need the portability.

First problem is that TabletPC isn't available separately, and the second
problem is that it's written for specific hardware, so a normal touchscreen
may be iffy.
