Totaling Time (Timesheet)

Can I use Excel as a so called "timesheet"?

Let's say I have column B set-up for entering start times,
and column C set-up for entering finish times.
Can I have column D figure out how many minutes or hours were spent?

ie:
B4=10:00AM
C4=11:30AM
Therefore:
D4=1.50
