Top ten 4mp digis at the moment ?

I'm off to walk the West highland way in May this year and want to buy a new 4mp+ digital camera for the trip. What recommendations for something rugged, compact and lightweight??

You cannot go wrong with Nikon or Canon, see what you like and if fits your budget and we can take it from there. If you can come up with 2 on your short list it will make things easier. Unless you do not want my opinion
