Hello folks,

Hope someone can help out. Just got a new laptop from HP and I am having a
small problem with it! Whenever I customize the toolbars in Internet
explorer and Windows explorer and I restart the PC I lose the custom
settings. It only happens in IE and Windows explorer, OE and Office programs
retain the customize settings! By customization I mean moving these toolbars
around after unlocking them and adding new toolbars such as Norton Virus! In
the case of Windows explore I'd like to have the address bar visible but
after restart it is gone and I have to add it again!

Anyone familiar with this or has a fix? The PC is brand new and the only new
install on it is Office 2003! I called HP and the told me to run sfc
/scannow which I did but it did not help! Please advise and thank you very
much for your help.

Go to start..run..type msconfig and on the start up tab uncheck AUTOTKIT is
you have it. I have an HP and that's what I had to do to fix it on mine.

Thanks to the both of you! In my case it was the Google toolbar, it was easy
to figure out because it was the only thing I installed on the laptop in
addition to Office 2003! I reinstalled it thinking that it was installed
incorrectly but it still gives me the same problem so I guess I'll just have
to look for something else!
