I'd like to know a good tool to use to edit the Restricted Site and
Trusted Site lists in Internet Explorer. Also, where to find this file
so that it can be edited.

The problem is that when one has downloaded and copied a host list from
another source, that list can be huge and unsorted. IE only provides a
little window to use -- the task can be impossible, a needle/haystack
problem.

Thanks.

First up, you won't find a file to edit for the Restricted/Trusted sites.
These are registry entries.

Second up, the HOSTS file is NOT added to the Restricted sites zone.

If you want an easy way to access and add/delete the REGISTRY entries for
Restricted/Trusted sites then have a look at ZonedOut at
http://www.funkytoad.com
Direct download http://www.funkytoad.com/download/ZonedOut.zip

If you want an easy way to browse/add/delete entries in your HOSTS file
look at Hoster at http://www.funkytoad.com
Direct download http://www.funkytoad.com/download/hoster.zip

Both are recommended and linked too by Eric Howes site, IESpyAd, well
trusted around here. IESpyAd is also now downloadable in a format that
can be can be imported by ZonedOut
