I frequently sent out emails to a few small groups that I have stored as
Distribution Lists. Most of the time, I get an error message that says:

Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.

Subject: RE: Walk for Hospice

Sent: 9/20/2004 3:54 PM

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

'Angela Colville' on 9/20/2004 3:54 PM

452 4.5.3 Too many recipients

I can't believe that Outlook can't handle the number of recipients - it's
probably 50 at most. Is there a solution to this?

Thanks!

Pauline

It isn't Outlook that can't handle it, it is your company/ISP that is
limiting how many recipients per message. They do this to prevent users
from sending unsolicited commercial e-mail (spam).

Thank you so much - so is there anyway around it? I send out info to a
quilters group regarding upcoming events & it's such a pain to have to
manually put in the addy's when they bounce. Do I just need to contact my
ISP?

you can try your isp, they will likely say that is their policy as published
in some fine print you didn't read. you could try breaking your list into 2
pieces. or you may want to move to a discussion group service like
yahoogroups.

She can also use a Wordmail Merge.

I also have just recently encountered this problem. In
the past I have regularly sent one email containing 150
recipients as part of a customer service system. Only
recently has this become a problem. ISP's are now
limiting the recipients.
