Too many fields defined when opening a form

When I try and open a form, it says "too many fields
defined." I don't have any fields with more then 255
characters so I don't know what else to look for? Help.

Has nothing to do with characters. How many fields do you have?

You are only allowed 255 FIELDS in the life of an object. I think
compacting your database will reset this count so deleted fields are no
longer included in the number.

A well-designed form should never have anywhere close to 255 fields.
