When preparing a Table of Contents for users, they do not use Styles so I manually go thru and "mark" the titles I want to be in my TOC. I then try to insert my TOC and get error, no Table of Contents in this document. I have been following the directions on TOC that I printed off from Word Help....but it is not helping. Any suggestions?
 
Try clicking on the Options button on the TOC tab and
make sure that Table entry fields is ticked and not
Styles (assuming you marked your titles with fields).
