TOC not grouped on page 1

I added a table of contents but it's spreading over the first few pages of my
document, between different screen prints. I have screen prints in the
document that are not where they belong after adding the TOC. I'm new to
using TOC, so if there are good articles that would help with this, that
would be great! Thanks, Mary

If the screen prints are being repeated in the TOC, the most likely reason
is that they are styled with one of the Heading styles being picked up by
the TOC. Make a new style for your screen prints.

If the TOC text is flowing past some screen prints early in the document,
then it's possible that it's the anchoring and layout settings on the screen
prints that are at fault (though I can't imagine this extending over more
than a page.) Can you explain exactly what you had before and after adding
the TOC, and how you want to position the screen prints?

Thanks Margaret, that's exactly what it was. I clicked on a screenprint and
the style is TOC2. I inherited the document and just wanted to add the TOC.
I'll go through and change the style to Normal for all of the screenprints -
I think that should take care of it. Thanks, Mary

Glad I guessed right then :-) The TOC 2 screen print will be a generated one
within the TOC and will disappear once you change the style for the real
screen prints in the document itself (almost certainly Heading 2 style, if
you used default TOC options).
