I collect a digitally formatted MSWord document from students

Has anyone found a Feature -- when WE perform an MSWord Grammar-Style-Spell Check on the student's document -- whereby WITHOUT us having to go into REVIEW and manually highlight Errors and/or make Recommendations, the Feature I seek AUTOMATICALLY does that for me

Tons of other Editing/Revision questions; but I'll begin with this one ----------- AND THIS-----

Does MicroSoft or any other company produce My Dream? Namely--a Really Artificial Intelligence "Evaluator of Student Essays"

Let me know asap, if any ideas--anyone!!

If you turn on Track Changes and *then* run Spell Check, it will track the
changes made by the spelling/grammar dialog. (thanks for encouraging me to
check this out, handy tip.)

I object to the idea that any easily available computer program could
evaluate student essays beyond the level of spelling and grammar check.
But you could try googling to see if there's anything out there claiming to
do such a thing. I recently read an article about some software written to
replace slang (phat, bling-bling, etc) with the formal equivalents. It only
produced gibberish a fraction of the time.

Indeed, very handy! But, John, I think that this will make the corrections
as well as highlighting them. Is this what you want? Or do you want to
highlight the errors, return the document to the student so that he/she can
try correcting them? If this is what you want, I believe that you will need
a macro...
