To Run, or Not to Run Computer as Admin.

Good Sunday

Ignorant (unknowing) that I am, I have a question that maybe someone can help me with

I recently read the article at "http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/WindowsServ/2003/enterprise/...
entitled, "Why you should not run your computer as an administrator"
I am the "average jane", on a home computer. Do I have to log on to my computer as someone other than the administrator, in order to help protect my computer from trojan horses, and whatever else could happen
Does the majority of home computer users run their computers as administrators?
I barely used the log on feature until recently and was wondering if I, an average home computer user, should heed the advice in the article mentioned above.
Does this apply to business rather than personal or would you say that it applies to both home and office

Thanks

Jan

The advise applies to all users, on all versions of an operating system,
Windows or Unix.

If you run with an account that is limited to a specific set of actions and
places it may write, rather than as an admin account that is relatively
free from restrictions, then _if_ you accidently click something, or are
tricked into it, that tries to do bad things, what those bad things are that
can be done are limited by the empowerments of the account being used.

Running as a limited user can be frustrating in XP if you have applications
that are not written to comply with the Windows logo specifications.
Most applications that seem to insist that you use an admin account can
either be upgraded or have their underpinnings modifies so that they will
be usable in a limited account.
