First of all: the "no event sounds" is an old issue, I mean almost
from the beginning of XP.
Many solutions have been published, also on MS support and none worked
!
Questions answered by supporter have "trivial" solutions, as users
would be all beginners.
Only going on Google and checking for "no event sounds" demonstrate
the dimension of this bug.

The fact is that there is not yet a stable solution !
I hope that MS people take seriously this issue and give to thousands
of customers a final answer !

Thanks for your attention.

Manlio, you might not understand what this newsgroup is. You are not
talking to Microsoft here. This is a peer to peer newsgroup, and not
official MS support. All the folk who post here are volunteers, not
affiliated with MS. On a rare occasion an MS employee will respond to a
post, but not as officially representing MS. If you want to report this as
a bug here is a link for that.

http://support.microsoft.com/gp/contactbug

For official MS support:
http://support.microsoft.com/

You are not going to get a solution that works for all people in all cases.

Hi Rock,
I knew what you wrote .. and BTW ( pls don't feel complained) another
obvious answer !

I agree also that solutions cannot be of general validity.

My point was different.

Despite you list official contact accesses to MS, in the real world MS
is behind a wall of isolating burocracy.

My hope was only to transmitt a message, not to get any immediate
result. And this is based on the convincement that a good company
cannot ignore Forums and Customer's talkings, to not monitor News.

Anyhow thanks to be present .

I don't think you really do understand what I wrote. Your not transmitting
any message to MS by posting here. If you want to get the message to MS,
though it doesn't ensure they will listen to it, contact them through the
contact link I gave you. MS can't possibly post a single fits all solution
to any and all sound problems. The causes are varied and so are the
solutions.
