Hello! I really love Live services and Live Mail. But I was somewhat
disappointed when saw Live Mail. It's much better than Hotmail, but it has
some bad points. It hasn't Tags (like in Gmail). Folders is good, but Tags
are better, because each message can have several tags. In Gmail you can use
tags in the same way as Folders, but Tags give more possibility. The second
disadvantage is advertisement. It takes a lot of place at top of the page and
cause in inconvenience when you read letter in preview panel. If you do need
place advertisement in the page let it be text or links (like it is in Gmail)
but not so lage picture or flash at the top of the page. Also I'd like to
choose subjects for advertisement (if advertisement is really necessary for
you). Live Mail without advertisement is REALLY COOL!!!!
Thank you!

You may also want to download the Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta. It works
similar to Windows Live Mail, and you can access your Google Mail or AOL
Mail account, and, of course Hotmail or Windows Live Mail. The Windows Live
Mail Desktop Beta does show advertisements to the right of the reading pane
and message pane, but this advertisement seems to be only a "Windows Live"
logo. The Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta now offers public sign-up, so you
can sign up and download the Windows Live Mail Desktop Beta very quickly
without having to wait for your invitation. If you want, you can change your
MSN subscription level, but I believe that Windows Live Mail does not
currently support premium MSN subscriptions. I hope that these suggestions
will help you solve your problem.

Best regards,
Kit

That message was not problem report. I just compared Gmail (which is my main
email account on this point) and Live Mail web interfaces. I hoped that Live
Mail would be better, but unfortunately on this point Live Mail loses!
Of course I'm participating in Live Desktop Beta, but now I'm talking about
Web-interfaces.

I'm using the desktop live beta, and have a premium account and no ads, i
also have a second hotmail account that my work mail gets forwarded to and i
believe there are ad's there, although i've never really paid attention i
guess.

with regards to functionality between gmail and live mail online, its like
two different animals, google's approach to mail organization is using tags
much like a newsgroup so things can be threaded, and the live mail approach
is the more traditional approach to mail i believe. wouldn't mind seeing
more of an outlook feel to the new live mail though, as well as the ability
to change how i view my contacts, i miss that from the old hotmail
interface.

ah well... such is life in the fast lane i spose :-p

I don't think that Live Mail and Gmail are to different animals! Almost Live
services correspond Google's services! Yes, Gmail can't operate with
newsgroups.
And Live mail does, but newsgroups doesn't shut out concept of tags.
As to advertisement: Live's logo on the top of page is Ok, but other ads
really irritate!
