Time losing 3 seconds every minute

My clock on my Date and Time Properties is currently losing 3 seconds every
minute, you can actually see the second hand freeze.
I'm using Win XP Home Edition with sp2 (so far without any probs, we'll see!)
Is there a fix or is this a chip problem?
I'm using AMD Athlon 64 3000 I didn't notice this until after the SP2 had
been loaded.

Sounds like you are running something that locks up the time for 3
seconds out of every minute. Have you tried using msconfig.exe to
disable all startup programs to see if the behavior continues under a
more clean boot?
