Hi I am using DSL and is there any way I can set how long a particular
individual can be on the internet on a daily basis. I have two kids that have
there own limited user accounts but spend way too much time on the internet.
I am gone at work and that is when they begin (after school) to spend
countless hours on it. It is a useful tool when used properly but there kids
and spend way too much time chatting instead of using it for school work. I
would like to set it for a hour a day and then it shuts down for the selected
users. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Some home broadband routers have web filtering and time restriction
features. For example:

Anything within Windows that I can do without buying something? I know dial
up properties can give you a password and time limit but I cant find anything
for a broadband in set -up? Thanks

Where have you seen a time limit in dial-up properties? I haven't seen
that in Windows XP.

Windows XP lets you specify what times a user can log on. But there's
no way to force a user to log off at a specific time, so it probably
can't do what you want. For more information, see:

I haven't tried it, but Microsoft's Shared Computer Toolkit might
help. For more information:

I did a web search for "windows restrict logon time" and came up with
many links to commercial programs, including:

http://www.timelyweb.com/free/restrictlogontime.html

I suspect that buying an inexpensive broadband router will be the
easiest way to accomplish your goal.
