Tilde sign files like this : ~

Hi I'm just wondering what are these files that named (~)
tilde sign...I have them in my harddrive, some also
starts with tilde and some letters, even exe.

Anybody knows what these files are? thanks.

Known glitch. Changes in the address book cause this. Just delete/ignore
them.
 
Hi!Bee!

It happens when you make a change and/or view the Address Book. You can
either rename it with a .dbx extension or delete it. It came about from
the updates numbered: 331923 and 330994. MS is aware of the issue.

Would those two updates show up in add/remove programs? If so, the problem
is not just limited to those two updates. I have the same problem and don't
see either of those updates in add/remove programs.
