You could always just stop the windows Defender Service and see if it makes
a difference.

I believe I tried that. But then again when I turned it off I don't think I
rebooted or check to see if the service was running or turned off.

Windows Defender is the Service. If you open the Control Panel and then
Admin tools and then Services and just stop the service, then you should
know pretty quick whether it's the issue.

I don't think it has a direct EXE, as it appears the program is ran via the
SVChosts.exe. Probably could use process explorer to figure it out, but just
looking at it, it's not obvious.

Is this Tiger Woods 2007 ? I installed my Brothers copy a while back and it
installed and worked fine (though some nVidia users have problems with the
game crashing)

Are you saying that your game crashes or Vista BSODs when you try to install
it ? If it's Vista BSODing, then I think you have a greater problem
somewhere else. Though I'm not sure where, unless it's a hard drive failing.

Yeah it bsod as soon as I put it in. I recently built this machine from the
ground up all is new. I built it to support the vista. This is the first
issue I have had when trying to install something. Would having dual
monitors be a problem. Maybe I should set up to only use one for testing
purposes.

I have Dual monitors, but it probably wouldn't hurt to unplug one while
testing.

It sounds like maybe TW2007 is trying to install maybe the starforce or
other software protection driver and that's killing it.

Very odd to get a BSOD on install. My first thought is to have to turn the
UAC off (Control panel, User accounts) and see if that makes a difference.
Outside of that, I'll have to ponder on it

10-4 will try that out also.

Was checking the UAC. And actually the UAC was one of the first anoying
things I turned off. "_"
