I'm not able to open .tif files in XP. Apparently
Microsoft is aware of the problem but I can't find if a
solution has been found.

Anyone else having this problem?

You don't open .tif files in Windows XP, or in any operating
system. You open files in an application.

What application are you trying to open them in? What does "not
able to" mean? What happens when you try?

Download Irfanview from www.irfanview.com. It's a free *very* good
image viewer that supports just about any image format you've every
heard of.
